• Golden hour

We've all heard of golden hour right? Well Autumn is the mother to everything golden. Light, colours, outfits and much more, you can't hit the golden hour brief any better, in any other season.

• Daylight hours

For everyone wanting to incorporate a sunset/sunrise into their photoshoot. Autumn provides sightly more sociable times for your shoot. Depending how deep into Autumn you go, we can get these shots as early as late a 8am or as early as 4pm.

• Colours

Tree lined driveways, or a single hedge, it truly doesn't matter which one you have. While providing heart warming backdrops, all foliage in Autumn can completely transform your photoshoot into a colourful fairytale.

• Wardrobe

If there's a favourite time I love people coming to a shoot with a car full of clothes ( not uncommon, I promise) it's autumn. Most people are shocked when I tell them , if in doubt, bring your whole wardrobe! However it is immense fun putting outfits together, and what's not to love when we can go to town on warm and woolly jumpers. Autumn brings us the flexibility of including light, flowing outfits, as well as cozy, knitted looks, all in the same shoot!

• Temperature

A slight decrease in temperature means... NO FLIES, YIPPEE. What an occasion to celebrate. While this is variable depending on how far into Autumn you go, it truly is a viable reason to choose an Autumn shoot. Furthermore, there is less of a risk of you and your horse getting hot and bothered, so we can focus more on getting super creative within our photos.

• Preparation

As anyone who has had a photoshoot with me will know, we do cover and go over quite a lot of prep before our photoshoot. This is essential to ensure your day is super relaxed, and enjoyable. However, it does include some of the more tedious jobs, such as horse baths, tack cleaning, and yard sweeping. I find all these jobs more enjoyable in jumper weather, without our fingers falling off due to the cold, meaning Autumn is perfect for these jobs.

• Horse's coat

Yet again, depending on how deep into Autumn we go, we can have a whole range of coat types at this time of year. From the last of summer dapples in September, to full winter fluff in November, it's purely up to you. Many people also love nice, smart clip. This time of year offers so many options that can really add to the style of the photos you want to come away with.

• Time

Time is a massive component to people's thought process when booking a shoot. For many people who compete throughout the summer, life can just be too hectic to think about a photoshoot. However Autumn can be a perfect time to put some time aside for your photoshoot, without feeling it adding any stress to an already busy schedule. It all also perfect for the younger ones with October half term taking place.

• "The Right Moment?"

" I want to wait until this happens, or until I get a new..." While so many people put off a photoshoot for another couple of months, or think they'll look better next year, the truth is there is very rarely a "perfect time." My advice to anyone thinning about a photoshoot is to go for it, you'll never know what next year will look like, and you don't want to miss the opportunity to capture timeless elegance in your images.
