Karen & Tomos at Rockrose Equestrian

I had such a lovely morning with Karen at Rockrose Equestrian, capturing some photographs of her and her very handsome boy, Tomos. It's always lovely to spend time creating something special with clients and their horses, making the most of the surroundings and finding those little corners that make each shoot unique.

Tomos is the most beautiful palomino Welsh D, and certainly made a wonderful subject for the morning! Karen had done a fantastic job of getting him looking his very best, and he was ready to make the most of his time being a model.

We began around the yard at Rockrose, making the most of the wonderful brick walls, old barns and characterful corners that the yard has to offer. There are so many lovely backdrops tucked away around Rockrose, and it was lovely to use a few different spots to create some variety throughout Tomos's photographs.

Karen's husband, Charles, also came along for the morning and joined in for part of the shoot. It was so lovely to have him included too, making a few photographs together that I'm sure will be all the more special to look back on.

We then finished with a wander down to the field, which has the most incredible views. The autumn colours were just beginning to make an appearance, adding the loveliest little touches of colour to the background. It's always considerably more breezy at Rockrose, than it seems to be anywhere else in the surrounding areas, so it was great to catch a day where we could head out for w under without too much of a breeze.

We also made use of the beautiful archway at the entrance to Rockrose, with their refurbished Land Rover coincidentally parked in just the right spot to feature in one of the photographs!

When it came to choosing her favourites, Karen decided on a couple of framed pieces, with Tomos taking centre stage in a rather impressive 34" frame. I absolutely cannot wait to see this one find its place on the wall.

A lovely afternoon, a very handsome pony and some special memories captured along the way. Thank you, Karen and Charles, for having me along!
