In October, I headed out to East Lothian for a shoot with Susan, her two horses, mum, husband and Jimmy the Greyhound too! We split the shoot up into lots of different sections to make sure everyone could get included, as well as having a focus on just Susan and the horses too.

We got a cracking day for it, warm sunshine in October making all the golden leaves shine! Susan's two horses, Herbie and Pasha, are Arabs that she's had for now, and I was so excited to meet them after she booked my Autumn Offer at Scone Horse Trials. Herbie the grey is looking fabulous for 30 years old, and this was something that so important to capture in our images.

Susan's mum, Agnes often helps with the horses, and enjoys spending time at the yard so it was amazing to get her included as well. The horses were so easy to work with, and made the shoot really relaxed, fun, and a great morning altogether. Susan and some great outfits, from really casual jumpers and jeans that were 100% her style, to be able to upscale things to something smarter as well.

Susan chose a gorgeous 6-in-1 and a folio box from their viewing , and I can’t wait to see these images come to life in print. This session truly celebrated the beauty of long friendships — both human and equine — captured with some awesome colours making their want through too!
