A Family Shoot with Sophie, Patrick, Tom & Sarbi

This next session was a model call with Sophie and her pony Patrick, with her brother Tom joining us for part of the shoot too. I’d worked with Sophie’s mum, Lucy, before, and we’d spoken about organising a shoot a few times, so it was really nice to finally make it happen while everyone was home at the same time.

Patrick is very much a family pony, shared between everyone and doing a bit of everything! He’s kept at home, and considering the unbelievable amount of rain we’ve had throughout February this year, everyone did a brilliant job getting him clean and ready for photos.

We started in the garden, using a lovely hedge that added some much-needed colour while everything else is still in winter hibernation, along with a rustic wooden gate that made a great first backdrop. Patrick is a slightly older gentleman and definitely knows how things work, he quickly decided that treats were required in exchange for his cooperation, which, honestly, I can’t blame him for.

One of the best things about shooting here was the variety of locations packed into such a small area. The farm has lots of little barns, walls, and smaller farm buildings dotted around, which gave us loads of opportunities to create different looks without needing to travel anywhere. I absolutely loved being able to move around and make the most of each spot. Many people are super surprised with what location we use, and a wall you walk past everyday, can a main location for our images!

To finish the session, we headed up the hill to a wooded avenue. Tom joined us for this part along with their labrador, Sarbi, and it ended up being a really fun way to wrap up the shoot. Even in winter, the trees created an amazing canopy overhead, giving us a completely different feel from the earlier images.

I really enjoyed working with everyone, it was such a relaxed, easygoing photoshoot, and I can’t wait for them to see the final images in print.

Would you love your shoot to feel relaxed, and all about donning a day in the life at home, then I'd absolutely love the chat. Pop me a cal on 07482238707, or fill out the form below to hear about what a shoot would look like for you.
