Hollie and I have shot together twice now. Our first shoot was in the depths of Winter, and although we got a brilliant set of images, locations and outfits change so much as we head into Summer. There’s something really special about returning for a second shoot with a client — familiar faces, and a chance to be more creative with what we create to build on our previous collection of images.
In May, I headed back to Hollie's lovely small livery yard, tucked away in the Fife countryside, and the weather could not have been better. The sun was out in full force, giving us that golden glow that makes everything feel just a little bit magical.
Hollie had clearly put a lot of thought into her outfit choices for both of our shoots, and it paid off beautifully. We mixed between warm and cosy, to casual and comfortable, finishing our May shoot with a summery dress too. Not forgetting the perfect touches of long boots, scarves, and hats too!
We kicked off both shoots with some relaxed group shots around the yard — a mix of shots showing off the fab yard and facilities she has turned into a lovely little livery. These early frames were all about capturing that everyday kind of magic — the bond, the routine, and the love that ties it all together.
After a quick outfit change into either different jumpers in winter, or a summery dress in May, we then headed out into the fields and maid the most of the sunshine we managed to get on both days!
Something Hollie wanted to come away with was some epic headshots. We had to work quite quickly to avoid the flies in May, and keep everyone moving, however I love the contrast in colours we got from the images.
My photoshoot experiences always end with an in-person viewing to sort through all the images, and design any artwork clients wish to go home with. Hollie and her mum have designed a Wooden Ladder Triptych, and a big 6in1 multi frame over the shoots, which are perfect ways to make sure the images are loved every day.
