Full Gallery Reveal - Sonya & Lady

As many ion you will have seen, at the end of September I headed out to Rockrose Equestrian to do a portrait shoot with Sonya, and one of her horses Lady. We had our in-person viewing session today, and `I am so excited to share the full gallery with you all.

This shoot is the start of an exciting collaboration with Rockrose, and Sonya's shoot was a way to showcase all the amazing locations around the yard, and explore what shoots at Rockrose could look like. All my photos are split into sections to allow us to use lots of different locations, have little breaks in between, and also have a few outfit changes to add plenty of variation into your images. Let me take you with us through our shoot.

We always start our shoots by finalising our outfits, and setting everyone involved. Some people have a really good idea of what they want to wear, but it can also be something that is quite overwhelming to think about. The best way to do it is a bring a couple of options based of what we discuss in our pre-shoot consultation, and we will make final decisions on the day.

After sorting through wardrobe ideas, we started the shoot in the garden surrounding the house, making themes of the stone walls, and apple trees in fruit. Not every shoot has a garden backdrop like this, so when the opportunity presents itself, it would be rude not to use it!

Black background shots are. super fun way to include some closer and connected images into our gallery, and at least one of these images always makes it into to our favourite pile during client viewings. They are also a great way for your horse to take a moment to relax, as they often take place in stables, barns or arenas where they are very familiar with, allowing some of the most natural and special moments to shine through.

Rockrose has the most brilliant abundance of red brick walls. From plan pots to archways, we were spoilt for choice in backdrops, and to top if off we even had some of the autumn colours coming through.

Incorporating the dogs into the photos was a really important part for Sonya, and it's something that's welcome and encouraged in all my shoots. Whether that's including them alongside the horses, or separately, they are always welcome.

Our collaboration is in full swing now, and will be launched with a Christmas sparkle to it, involving a special shoot offer to include a beautiful 16" framed images for all of those that book their shoots at Rockrose this year. Our Taster Session Portrait Day takes place on the 23rd Nov on the yard, to celebrate the launch of our yard offer for all those based at Rockrose. Read all about it, pop it in your diary, and get booked in for your Taster Session below.
