My recent shoot with Rosa, her partner Charlie, their beautiful horse Ranger, and Labrador Gus was a day in early Autumn filled with lots of colour, fun and super special moments.
Rosa and Charlie have recently settled into their stunning new home, accompanied with land at home for the horses to enjoy. This shoot was the perfect way to celebrate this exciting new chapter, capturing the quiet joy of life at home with the horses, and the relationship built with Ranger over the time Rosa has owned him.
We began the session with Ranger, who enjoyed being in the long grass field and took every opportunity to have a snack break! We had lots of light coming through the trees, and the jumper, scarf and jeans combo combined everything together.
Charlie and their dog, Gus, joined us for part of the session, and the chaos in these shots is always so worth it. Every shoot of mine is very open to family (human and dogs) joining in, and with a little bit of planning, we can make sure it's suits everyone and the outcomes means that you can capture many different aspects of owning horses and dogs, on the same day!
We finished with a little wander in the woodland on Rosa's doorstep to make the most of the Autumn light and colours coming through. Rosa's outfits were great throughout the shoot, from super casual to a little smarter with some amazing boots too. We talked a lot about being a little apprehensive of being in front of the camera, and we made a few changed to make the shoot as comfortable as possible. Rosa had a good friend helping as assistant and treat holder, and staring out in the field with lots of snacks for Ranger, meant we had a super laid back start to the shoot with lots of other things to focus on.
