Another rainy day this June!

After a long time coming, I went out to have a photoshoot with this beautiful duo, Ava and her horse Flora. With the weather gods being against us for this shoot, we had change dates a couple of times, but thankfully after waiting the rain out all day, we got a dry 2 hours in the evening for the shoot. Talk about these late summer evenings saving the day! Ava had just finished her exams for the year, and this shoot was perfect to capture how she spends time at home with Flora.

We started the shoot in and around the stables. With jacket and boots to make a statement, capturing these images were great fun and I love how they turned out.

outfit change

A quick outfit change and a wander down to the driveway and house, we then captured what most people refer to as the smarter shots. This location had so many amazing spots and backdrops, figuring out which ones to include can sometimes be a mind field. With lots of practice and knowing what can look best, I always take a few notes upon our location walk, and this helps us to stick to a plan throughout our shoot.

Final set

To finish off, Ava changed into a super casual outfit, we took Flora's plaits out, and we headed into one of the horses field to capture images from a day to day perspective. These were some of both our favourites, and we had some fun using the arena fences, nearby trees and bushes to naturally frame the images.
