Pamela and Vinny

Some sessions come together in a way that feels both thoughtful and effortless, and Pamela’s was exactly that.

Pamela was gifted her shoot from her friends at the yard. It was such a generous thought, and one that gave us time to plan things properly. Over the weeks leading up to it, I had the chance to get to know both Pamela and Vinnie. This always makes a difference, so that by the time the day arrived, everything felt easy and familiar.

We planned the shoot in time for spring, hoping for daffodils, and we were absolutely spoilt. The daffodils came into their own, framing the shoot in a way that felt natural and unforced yet still so beautiful.

Vinnie was exactly what you’d expect from a Welsh D. Full of personality, very food-focused, and not shy about sharing his opinions. Yet alongside that, he’s a genuinely kind and well-mannered pony and he is completely himself in every moment.

Pamela has had him since he was young and backed him herself, so there’s plenty of history there. That sort of relationship shows up naturally and it doesn’t need to be staged or overworked. It was important to keep things relaxed and let that come through in a way that felt honest.

Pamela brought an incredible selection of pieces to work with, many of them thoughtfully collected during her travels over the years. Pamela's wardrobe brought real personality to the images; each outfit change created so much character and depth to the photos.
