Hello and welcome — My name is Carenza and I’m so glad you’re here! I wanted to put together a little blog so you can get to know some facts about me, my life outside of photography, and why I do what I do.

My job in the photography world is something that I call Lifestyle Portraiture. I am lucky enough to focus this in both the equine and canine worlds; capturing many amazing horses, dogs and owners. I have been around horses and dogs for most of my life. No matter how many of my teenage years I survived without horses or dogs of my own, I still was hugely involved with them in some way or another. I now finally have both of my own as I go through my twenties, and enjoying the rollercoaster!

SLOWING DOWN AND SEEING WHAT YOU’VE CREATED

Luxury equine portraiture is more than just a photo session. For me, it’s about creating an experience that is as meaningful as the images themselves. From the first conversation to the final artwork, I want you to feel seen, heard, and completely at ease.

At its core, this business exists to give horse owners permission to slow down. We spend so much time doing — training, competing, managing, juggling — that we rarely stop to appreciate what we’ve actually built. The quiet moments. The trust. The bond that forms over early mornings, muddy boots, and shared routines.

As a horse owner myself, I understand just how rushed life can feel. Work, family, hobbies, horses — it’s a constant balancing act, and often we’re guilty of being far too hard on ourselves. We move from one task to the next without ever really acknowledging how special this lifestyle is.

That’s why I created an experience designed to gently reveal the moments that are so easily hidden: the softness, the connection, the unspoken understanding between horse and human. Moments that deserve to be seen, remembered, and held onto

A Little About Me

I grew up in the Highlands of Scotland, surrounded by ever‑changing skies, rugged landscapes, and a colour palette that feels both raw and calm at the same time. That upbringing has shaped how I see the world and how I approach my imagery. I’m naturally drawn to earthy tones, layered textures, and a style that feels blended and timeless rather than forced or overly styled. I love incorporating the colours and elements that surround us, weathered wood, soft light, muted greens, and natural movement - allowing the environment to quietly support the story rather than overpower it.

When I’m not behind the camera, I'm usually at the yard trying my best to navigate thoroughbred ownership, or out with Shadow my labrador. If you're lucky, you'll catch me inside editing, usually with Gilmore Girls powering me through. I believe that the best photography comes from a place of genuine connection, and I bring that same joy and curiosity into every shoot.

Over the last 5 years, I’ve had the joy of being an event groom, trying a veterinary approach to the industry, before settling on portraiture and loving every second. At this time of writing (Jan 2026) I've had the business running for just over 2.5 years, and we're just getting started.

Some of the best ways to come and say hello are on my trade stands. Blair Atholl, which is now Scone Horse Trials is my big one of the summer, alongside The Scottish game Fair in July, with Arngask Christmas Market being my main Christmas venture. You'll often see me migrate to the crocs on day 4 of Scone (I'm not embarrassed to admit it), the feet take priority!

Let’s Create Something Beautiful Together

Your relationship with your horse deserves to be celebrated in a way that feels elegant, personal, and unforgettable. I’d be honoured to help you tell that story through portraits that capture not just how your horse looks, but who they truly are.

If you’d like to learn more or start planning your own session, I’d love to hear from you.
