Recently, I spent a morning with Jade, her two daughters, and their ponies. It was a busy start to the day, but once we settled into the rhythm of the shoot, the girls and the ponies were epic to work with.

The ponies stood beautifully for portraits, making our jobs much easier, and we could play a little with the lighting in the barns to capture some very special moments. We worked both in the stubble fields and against deep black backgrounds, creating a collection that feels classic and uncluttered. The contrast between open landscapes and more intimate studio-style portraits gave us a balance I love—each moment simple, but of course, full of character.

We then had an outfit chnage, and heade down the road slightly for a very pretty driveway, and some more foliage. The ponies were up for anything we threw at them, and Jade managed to get a few moments at the end with her special boy too, allowing all the horses to have their time to shine.

We chose a family image for the big frame included in all my shoots, and then also chose a folio box of Mounted prints, which offers maximum flexibility when it comes to deciding between wall art, digitals, and having things printed. This allows the images to be switched and swapped however they'd like them to over the years, and if a fabulous way of coming away with many images printed without them all having to find space on the wall. Jade booked in for a second shoot next summer, and I can't wait to see how much the girls will have grown up in a year, meet some more ponies, and add in some dogs too next time around!
