There’s something truly special about late summer light in September. That soft golden glow that makes everything feel a little more magical. My recent shoot with Emily and her horse, Douglas, just outside of Glasgow, couldn’t have been more perfect example of that glow.

We were blessed with a cracking sunny day, and the fields were still rich with colour. Douglas' deep black coat soaked up the sunshine like velvet, and Emily's outfits were the perfect mixture os summer and Autumn styling ideas.

Between our different locations, we took full advantage of all the different area the yard had. Although it was a smaller setup, it had everything we needed. The indoor arena became the perfect space to play with the sunlight streaming in through the entrance, creating shafts of light that danced across Douglas’ coat. It gave him a chance to relax between sets, and it allowed us to experiment with some more creative, directionally lit portraits. Once he’d had his breather, we finished the session back out in the field, to finish in Emily's summery dress.

I can’t wait for to see some of these images in a 6in1 frame, alongside their favourite piece in the 16" frame included in all my shoots! They are both going to look epic on the wall, and with some digitals as well for everyday use and moments to look back on.
