One of the awesome things about growing the commercial side of my business, is that this Spring, I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing small businesses. I recently had a shoot with Jodie at Spa at the Steading, located just outside of Kinross, which is a medical aesthetics clinic tailored around providing treatments in a safe, and calm environment

Arrival and Atmosphere

Pulling up to the clinic, the tone was instantly set—surrounded by quiet fields, stone walls, and amazing views. The building itself is a converted part of the steading, however is truly immaculate inside. White and golds, with small finishing touches, whispered luxury without ever feeling overdone. It's the perfect space to unwind and forget about the daily stresses of life for an hour.

Defining the Story

Shooting for small businesses like Jodie's, isn't just about providing nice imagery, bit about creating tools for het to use. From there, we structured the shoot to follow a client journey—from arrival at the door to post-treatment reflection in the soft, light-filled clinc. Every detail mattered: the Hermes cushion on the chair, the skincare bottles hand-sourced from a British company, to the freshly scented candle during in the background. Each element helped paint the full picture.

Tailored Image Delivery

After the shoot, the images are turned around in a week, and delivered over a score and easy-to-use online gallery. We always touch base over the phone to go through our collection,a nd how the images can be used as a useful tool for a wide range of examples such as website banners, social media content, or even printed marketing.

This shoot reminded me how powerful commercial photography can be when it aligns with the essence of a business. For a clinic like this—small, sophisticated, and deeply personal—every image needed to carry the same weight as a word-of-mouth referral. Calm. Trustworthy. Beautiful.
