At the end of March, I made my way up to the Highlands for a really special shoot with Sarah and her beautiful horse, Enzo. Sarah is one of my wonderful clients based up north, and I absolutely love having a base in the Highlands, it gives me the perfect excuse to travel around and meet such incredible people and their horses in some truly stunning locations.
We began the session just a few minutes down the track from the yard, easing into things in a quiet, natural setting. Joining us was Sarah’s little dog, Scruffers, who was an absolute star from the start. He was brilliant around Enzo and, with the promise of a bit of chicken, was more than happy to get involved whenever needed!
We did the rest of the shoot back in Enzo’s field, a simple location, but sometimes that’s all you need. It gave us the space to slow things down and get a little more creative. Sarah was completely up for anything, and Enzo was so settled back in his field that we played around with some fun images that I have loved adding to my shoots recently.
This session was particularly meaningful, as it was a celebration of Enzo’s life and the bond he shares with Sarah. There was such a sense of appreciation for the time they have had together, and it really shone through in every image we created.
The next day, I returned for the viewing, something I often do for my clients who are a little further away. Together, we chose three single frames, each one so special in its own way. I honestly can’t wait to see them up on Sarah’s wall, where they belong.
Sessions like this are always such a privilege, to be trusted with moments that mean so much. Thank you, Sarah, for allowing me to capture such an important chapter with Enzo.
