Personal Branding Shoot

Lynsay and I planned this shoot for September, and we got one of those early Autumn mornings. Lovely sunshine, dew on the grass, perfect shoot weather for the country lifestyle section of our shoot we started with. Lynsay and I have spoken a few times about getting this in the diary, and I'm so pleased we finally did. Our brief was country lifestyle, powerful headshots, and including the horses in an editorial style.

Starting off in one of the fields behind the house, we took the Landrover over to be one of our props, as it was completley on brand. And of course, little Scampi the Dachshund was welcomed to join on for a couple as the perfect sidekick.

Of course our styling played a huge part in this shoot. Pulling out jeans, wellies, a nice striped short, and of course a well loved Barbour Jacket worked perfectly for this set.

The preparation to shoot like this is key. Mood boards, inspiration lists, scheduling, props, cleaning the Landy, outfit organisation, is a huge part, and the day can't run smoothly without it. Creating a beautifully organised list of shots for the morning is what we run off, as well as throwing in some creative fun along the way. One of the great things about Land Rovers from a photographers point of view, is the many many options we have to include them. We could re-shoot this again next month, and have a complete different set of images if we wanted too!

Section 2 - Headshots

After heading back from the field, it was time for an outfit change, and to make the most out of the barn and stables Lynsay has at home. Loads of natural, directional light, dark backgrounds and stable windows, our locations were perfect.

This section was really fun to work through. The smallest changes and adjustments made the biggest changes to how the images felt and looked. The. pop of colour from the headscarf was the cherry ontop for this set, it gave things the finishing touch without being too distracting.

Time for some lunch and a pause with all of our Behind-the-scenes helpers of the day. After some regeneration and reset, Lynsay also wanted some cosier, at home feel shots. Lots of little windows into her personal world, and lifestyle at home outside of her business. It's so lovely to be able to have a little insight into the person behind the brand at times, and it's always nice to get changes into cosy outfits!

Section 3 - Heading to the horses

To finish our day, we headed off to a nearby yard, very kindly offered up from some friends. 3 lovely horses to choose from, all with incredibly different personalities, and turned out to perfection. The effort of the preparation for these shoots is truly incredible. The sun stayed out, the horse's were happy in their schedule, and we finished off with a slightly more editorial feel t these images, on comparison to classical equine portraiture.

I can't wait for our next shoot, and exploring into personal brand photography a little deeper!

Love this set of imagery, or have a personal brand that needs exploring through photography ? I'd love to hear form you
