Natural Light and Real Life: Capturing Daktari and Their Mission to Keep Dogs Safe

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of working with Daktari, a locally-owned company that's filling a gap in the market with their smart, portable dog first aid kits. Whether you're going up the hills, or just need a back up pack in the kitchen, their kit can fit in anywhere.

Daktari is all about real-life scenarios—road trips, hill walks, dog park days—I approached this shoot with my usual go-to: natural light and lifestyle based imagery. Everything was shot outdoors, using soft, golden tones to complement the warmth and reliability behind their brand. No studio setups, no artificial flash—just genuine moments that feel lived-in and relatable.

Instead of studio product shots, we focused on lifestyle portraits while keeping the brand in the forefront—real dogs, real people, and real moments. This style helps tell a visual story that speaks directly to Daktari's audience: dog lovers who think ahead, care deeply, and treat their pets like family. Each image is designed to reflect not just a product, but a lifestyle.

What I love most about working with brands like this is how seamlessly we can blend visual storytelling with mission-driven messaging. You don’t always need a close-up of the kit itself to understand what Daktari stands for, and can instead understand how their kits are used in day to day life.
