🍂 Autumn Reflections: September & October

As the long days of summer gave way to the soft light of Autumn, September and October brought such a beautiful shift in tone and colour. This year was very kind to us with weather, and following on from a very dry and sunny summer, Autumn wasn't too different with the mud holding out for the majority of October, and many more sunny days than usual.

These past two months have been filled with laughter, long boots, snuggly scarves, and of course — some truly amazing horses, ponies, dogs and owners.

☀️ September: Sunshine, Soft Light & Early Hints of Autumn

September is always a favourite — the balance between summer brightness and those first signs of autumn colour. Horses still have their summer coats, and the days stretch long enough for golden-hour sessions that seem to last forever.

This year, we had plenty of warm sunshine, making summer blend into Autumn seamlessly.

🍁 October: Vibrant Colours & Cosy Layers

Then came October — and with it, that burst of rich, vibrant colour. The landscape transformed almost overnight: fiery reds, burnt oranges, and russet browns turning every backdrop into something magical.

This is when the styling really came into play. Out came the knitwear, wool coats, and textured layers that make autumn sessions feel so cosy. Those earthy tones - cream, olive, chestnut, and burgundy looked incredible alongside glossy coats and soft autumn light.

Autumn is my personal favourite season of the year, so looking back at all these shoots makes me incredibly grateful at how many we've manage to squeeze into the season. Keeping fingers crossed for a cold and crisp November so we can continue shooting and get some amazing winter light coming in 🌞 If Autumn is a favourite season of yours, I'd love to chat about planning your shoot for next year.
